Fraud Alert: Phishing attacks now based on coronavirus

Cyber thieves are trying to cash in on the coronavirus (now officially known as COVID-19). They're sending out bogus email made to look like it's from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) or the World Health Organization (WHO) with information about the virus.

Digital security experts say it’s the first major phishing attack of 2020.

The bogus email has attention-getting subject lines, uses stolen CDC or WHO logos – cut and pasted from the real websites – and a very simple message – click here to find out more about the spread of the virus.
