Trial set in identity theft case

EAU CLAIRE — A February trial is scheduled for a woman facing seven courts of identity theft in Eau Claire.

Jaquillah Johnson, 31, was accused by investigators of trying to use a woman’s credit cards and bank account after she lost her wallet in June 2020. The wallet fell out of the woman’s purse at either Wigwam Tavern or the Mousetrap Tavern.

According to the criminal complaint, when she went to check her accounts the woman found some $1,400 had been spent on plane tickets and a hotel in Miami. Several attempts at purchases were declined. The total value of the attempts topped $5,000.
