SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO)– On May 29, the Madison Police Department received information regarding a suspect who was involved in a large-scale, multi-jurisdictional check fraud scheme. The suspect’s vehicle was identified and found parked at a residence in Madison.
During the investigation, officers learned that the suspect, Brandy Scholl, a 46-year-old female, had been staying at the residence for several days. Scholl was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Officers also discovered a vehicle at the residence that was reported as stolen in Sioux Falls. A search warrant was approved for the residence and the vehicles. During the search, the officers located methamphetamine, OxyContin, drug paraphernalia, blank check stock, completed fraudulent checks, computer printers, and multiple forged driver’s licenses.
The materials had personal identifying information for about 30 victims, including names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and fraudulent birth certificates.
