Three arrested in relation to extensive check fraud scheme

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Three men were arrested in Evansville on fraud and forgery charges.
Authorities say on December 7, 2023, an employee with Crane Credit Union reported to the Evansville Police Department (EPD) that their institution had been the victim of an extensive check fraud scheme that potentially involved upwards of sixteen suspects.
EPD says some of those suspects include:
- Elijah Burris
- Deophlouis Mimms
- Johnny Powells
