Watch: Bank robber fakes limp, then runs off after Louisiana heist
Fox 13 Tampa Bay
SLIDELL, La. - A man disguised with a fake limp, cane, and neck brace robbed a Louisiana bank in broad daylight before fleeing on foot — dropping the act as soon as he made his escape, police said.
Slidell Police said the robbery happened on November 7 and released footage of the bizarre heist.
What they're saying:
"The suspect entered the bank and appeared to be handicapped and/or injured, as he walked with a fake limp, had a cane, and a neck brace," police said on its Facebook page.
"The suspect passed a note to the teller while shouting that it was a robbery and started demanding money. He then fled the scene (without a limp) with an undisclosed amount of cash.
"The suspect was seen running down Choctaw Drive into a nearby neighborhood. Slidell Police K-9 units responded in an effort to track the suspect; however, investigators believe he may have escaped the area in a vehicle.
