Police arrest Hurricane man suspected of robbing local credit union after he flees with 'a bag of cash'

St. George News

A Hurricane man is in custody and is facing a first-degree felony aggravated robbery charge after an incident at a local credit union shortly after 11 a.m. Friday

Ryan A. Williams, 47, was arrested and booked into Purgatory Correctional Facility after officers were dispatched to what was initially a panic alarm activation at Mountain America Credit Union on West State Street in Hurricane, according to a statement released by Hurricane City Police Chief Kurt Yates.

Officers arrived to learn a suspect had entered the bank and demanded money from one of the bank tellers by reportedly telling the employee he had a gun.
