St. Croix County woman charged in $300,000 fraud case

BALDWIN (WQOW) - A St. Croix County woman is facing felony theft and money laundering charges after being accused of misappropriating $302,119.74 from a non-profit pet adoption service in Baldwin.
According to the criminal complaint, Kerri Holmberg of Wilson used the money from Lucky Paws Midwest for herself. Her husband Cody Holmberg is charged with being party to felony theft.
A police investigation was launched last year. It found Holmberg was using funds from the business account for personal expenses like mortgage payments, car payments, cell phone and restaurant bills since 2020.
