Heartland Bank robbery suspects caught in Florida and Illinois

WASHINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — Two men have been arrested in connection with the Heartland Bank and Trust robbery last week.
Willie B. Franklin, 50, was arrested in Fort Myers, Fla., and Marcellus D. Ward, 48, was arrested in Tazewell County. Both arrests came Wednesday, nearly a week after the June 4 robbery.
The Washington Police Department said a federal agent arrested Franklin in Florida, while Washington detectives worked with the FBI, the Morton Police Department and the Illinois State Police to serve a search warrant at a location in Peoria County. Ward was arrested in Tazewell County.
Both men are charged with bank robbery with force, intimidation, or threat of violence, according to the violation listed in the news release.
