Man Arrested in Chase Bank Robbery After Fleeing in Stolen Van
Boca Raton Tribune
Boca Raton, FL — June 13, 2026 — A multi-agency law enforcement operation culminated in the swift arrest of a 59-year-old man on Thursday afternoon following a brazen bank robbery and a cross-county vehicle theft.
Officers with the Boynton Beach Police Department responded to reports of a bank robbery at the Chase Bank branch located at 4740 North Congress Avenue at approximately 12:40 p.m. on June 11. Upon arriving at the scene, investigators met with bank employees who reported that a lone male suspect had entered the building, aggressively demanded money, and threatened the staff if they failed to comply.
Fearing for their safety, the employees complied with the demands, handing over more than $10,000 in cash. The suspect then fled the building. Witnesses at the scene were able to provide responding officers with a physical description of the perpetrator and identified a potential getaway vehicle, which they described as a white commercial-style van.
